Our programme is designed to get children moving, smiling, and feeling proud of what they can achieve.
Students take part in four exciting running sessions each week, with every step bringing them closer to a huge milestone — completing their very first marathon. The distance is built up gradually over the programme, helping children grow their fitness, confidence, and resilience in a fun and supportive way.
Along the journey, students learn about the benefits of physical activity, including how movement supports physical health, mental wellbeing, teamwork, and positive habits that last a lifetime.
The programme finishes with an unforgettable celebration! 🎉 Students run their final mile and officially complete their marathon at the National Sports Campus in Dublin 15 — a special event that gives every child the chance to feel like a champion.
Marathon Kids Ireland is all about encouraging participation, building confidence, and showing children that movement is fun, achievable, and something to be proud of.
